This package contains plugins for the ALSA library that are
not included in the main libasound2 package.

The ALSA library plugin "jack" allows the ALSA library to
play or capture via JACK. (This should not be confused with
the jackd output driver "alsa", included in the jackd
package, which allows the JACK daemon to play back via the
ALSA library.)
.
The PulseAudio library plugin "pulse" allows the ALSA
library to play or capture via PulseAudio.
.
The OSS library plugin "oss" allows the ALSA library to
play or capture via OSS.
.
Also included are enhanced resampling, a52 conversion, and
Maemo ALSA library plugins.

Note that in the Ubuntu package the JACK, a52, and Maemo
plugins are disabled by default due to build component
separation and cd image capacity issues.
